On December 16, 2008, a Middleport, NY, family came home to see their home devastated by fire. The fire was traced to ash remains from a wood burning stove stored in the pantry area off of the kitchen. The entire home was damaged from the inside out, including everything from the roofing to the flooring.
The family called their State Farm agent immediately who in turn called upon Stanley Steemer. In less than two hours of that call, a Stanley Steemer site inspector, the homeowner, the agent, and the adjuster were all on location to determine the scope of work and get the claim moving in the right direction.
Demolition, cleaning, drying, and repairs were all needed in order to complete the remediation properly. Managers from the Stanley Steemer franchises in Beaumont Texas, Corpus Christi Texas, and Flagstaff Arizona happened to be in Buffalo for a franchise development meeting and assisted in the demo and cleaning process of the claim. Support from the Syracuse franchise came to deliver a desiccant drying trailer to assist in the drying process.
The demo, drying, and cleaning were all completed in a timely manner and the customer authorized Stanley Steemer to rebuild the home. The efforts of many and constant communication reports to the agent and adjuster kept this claim moving forward, creating an impressive claim response for the insured.
A special thank you goes to State Farm agent Doug Thompson for realizing what our company is about and giving us an opportunity to help his insured during this emotional time of loss |
