A
vacant two-family Syracuse home suffered severe water damages
as a result of a broken water pipe in an upstairs bathroom.
The water ran unchecked for over a week, providing the perfect
environment for mold growth.
Upon
discovering the damages, the homeowner submitted the claim
and the adjuster recommended Stanley Steemer for the mitigation
and mold remediation. The growth pattern in the upstairs
unit was dramatic, with a variety of circles and colors
covering most of the living area. The downstairs unit had
less severe mold, but severe water damage. The basement
also had water damage and mold to contend with.
Stanley
Steemer provided a large crew of technicians to tackle the
large-scale job, gutting the home to its studs so that a
comprehensive mold remediation could take place. In order
to dry the home, an external furnace was setup to provide
heat to the home, and large low-grain dehumidifiers were
used to remove the moisture.
Once
gutted and fitted with the proper containment, the studs
were media-blasted to remove the mold growth. Large hepa-filter
air scrubbers were installed during the process to cycle
and clean the air of mold every fifteen minutes. The home
was also disinfected with Sporicidin. With all three floors
remediated, the home was ready for reconstruction, one week
after the mitigation began. |
