In
June of 2008 a Hamburg, New York, family visited their summer
cabin in Great Valley, New York. Unfortunately, upon their
arrival they discovered the home had been victim to a series
of water damage related issues.
Mold had taken
over the entire cabin and was visible on almost every wall.
The family immediately left the cabin and contacted their
insurance agent who recommended Stanley Steemer to handle
the water damage mitigation and mold remediation.
The homeowner
arranged for Stanley Steemer to meet them at the cabin the
next day to review the damages and put together a plan for
the restoration. During the review, Stanley Steemer’s
Restoration Manager connected with the claim adjuster to
form a joint scope of the work to be done.
The majority
of the cabin’s interior needed to be removed due to
the mold damage. The cabin was then dried and air scrubbers
were installed to remove mold from the air.
After removing
the affected building material, the mold was remediated,
the open joists were sealed, and plans were in place for
Stanley Steemer to begin rebuilding. The homeowner was thrilled
that Stanley Steemer could handle the entire process for
them from start to finish.
