A
lakeside home in Youngstown, New York, sustained significant
water damage due to multiple frozen pipes between the first
and second floor of the home.
The homeowners
arranged for their son to check on the home while they spent
the winter in Florida. The damage was discovered on one
of his weekly checkups. The homeowners contacted their insurer,
USAA, and Stanley Steemer was dispatched to mitigate the
damages and rebuild the interior.
Stanley Steemer’s
emergency response team was on location within one hour
of receiving the call. The damage was contained primarily
to the living room and hallway on the first floor. Given
the amount of time and volume of water that flowed through
the home, not much in the affected areas could be salvaged.
In order to properly
mitigate the damages and dry the home, the living room and
hallway needed to be gutted. The drying process was complete
within 72 hours and the home was ready for reconstruction.
The homeowner’s
son was so pleased with the services provided that he contracted
with Stanley Steemer’s Construction Division to complete
the general repairs as approved by USAA. In addition to
the general repairs, the homeowners also took this opportunity
to give their living room and hallway an updated look.
