The Rush United Methodist Church, south of Rochester, New York, suffered a furnace fire which blanketed the church and filled the air ducts with a fine soot. Shortly after the fire, the Walsh Insurance Group recommended that the church call Stanley Steemer to perform the cleanup. Stanley Steemer of Rochester was called in that morning and arrived within one hour of the initial call from the church.
After the initial inspection, it was determined that Stanley Steemer of Buffalo would need to clean and deodorize the furnace and duct work, and they were on site within a couple of hours. They thoroughly cleaned all of the heat vents and cold air returns along with all vent covers. The furnace was also cleaned and serviced. After several hours of work by the Buffalo technicians, the furnace was free of any odor and ready to be put back into service.
Stanley Steemer of Rochester cleaned all other areas and surfaces that were affected by the smoke. All of the carpet, upholstery, and hard furniture in the sanctuary were cleaned and deodorized. The same items were also cleaned and deodorized in the lobby, halls, and office areas. Ozone machines and air scrubbers (provided by Stanley Steemer of Syracuse) were used in the affected areas to help to eliminate the odor from the fire.
Thanks to a great collaborative effort by the Stanley Steemer operations in Rochester, Buffalo, and Syracuse, the church was clean and odor free within three days of the initial response. |
