A November, 2009, fire severely damaged the upper floor of a three-floor lake home on Seneca Lake. Starting in a bedroom, the fire gutted that bedroom and severely damaged three other rooms on the upper floor. Smoke and water damage affected the main floor and kitchen, as well as walk-out basement unit.
Stanley Steemer was called in by State Farm the day of the fire to perform an emergency board-up. The following day, Stanely Steemer technicians met with the property owner and State Farm adjuster to assess the damages and scope the mitigation.
The upper floor was gutted to its frame and dry-ice blasting was used to remove all the char on the studs and plywood. Due to heavy water damage, portions of the main and basement levels also required some demolition. As the temperatures were dropping below freezing, the home was also winterized as the work progressed.
Following drying the structure, all nails and loose debris were removed, allowing the gutted structure to get a thorough cleaning which allows a seamless rebuild.
